A Bruneian name, written across generations.

Overseas Agency Company began trading in 1974 with a simple promise: deliver the cleanest, safest, most dependable LPG to every doorstep in Brunei. Half a century on, that promise still drives every truck we send out, every cylinder we fill, and every home we serve.

Today OAC supplies households, restaurants, hotels, schools, factories and the marine sector. The brand has grown — the standard has not changed.

Frequently asked questions

Clear guidance for ordering, using and storing LPG safely.

How do I proceed with my first LPG order?

Scan the ordering QR on this page or call the OAC service centre at +673 242 9138. Please provide your name, telephone number, delivery address and required cylinder size. A 26 lb cylinder is suitable for household stoves and outdoor BBQ use; a 96 lb cylinder is intended for commercial kitchens and larger outdoor events.

How do I check the expiry date of the regulator and hose?

The regulator is valid for five years and the hose for two years. Check the date and manufacturer markings on each item, and replace any equipment sooner if it is cracked, damaged, hardened or otherwise worn.

Why do water droplets form on the cylinder while I am cooking?

Sustained high gas usage makes the LPG cylinder cold, causing moisture in the surrounding air to condense on its surface. This can occur when cooking at a high rate for a long period. If there is heavy icing, an unusual smell or poor appliance performance, turn off the supply and contact OAC.

Why does the flame sometimes turn orange or red?

Possible causes include incomplete combustion from insufficient airflow or dirty equipment. Improve ventilation by opening windows, then turn off the appliance and allow it to cool before cleaning the stove and accessible joints according to the manufacturer’s instructions. If the abnormal flame continues, stop using the appliance and arrange an inspection.

How can I monitor LPG usage and know when to reorder?

Observe your normal consumption for one to two months and use that pattern as a guide for future orders. Reorder before the usual cylinder duration is reached, especially ahead of busy periods or events.

Why is there sometimes a pop when lighting the stove?

Gas pressure can occasionally cause a brief sound during ignition. Repeated or strong popping, delayed ignition, or any unusual smell requires attention: turn off the appliance and gas supply, ventilate the area and contact OAC.

Why is there no flame or only a weak flame after replacing the cylinder?

Air in the line or a connection issue can delay normal gas flow after a cylinder change. Do not repeatedly try to ignite the appliance. Turn everything off and contact OAC so the cylinder, regulator, hose and connection can be checked safely.

There is a gas leak in my house. Who should I contact?

Do not use flames, electrical switches or phones near the suspected leak. If it is safe, close the cylinder valve, ventilate the area and move everyone away. From a safe location, call OAC at +673 242 9138 and Fire and Rescue (BOMBA) at 995.

Where should I store my LPG cylinder?

Keep LPG cylinders upright in a well-ventilated location, away from heat, flames, electrical equipment and other ignition sources. Protect cylinders from impact and do not store them in enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces.

Is LPG toxic or poisonous?

LPG is considered non-toxic, but leaked gas can displace oxygen and create serious fire and explosion risks. Treat any suspected leak as urgent.

How can I detect a possible LPG leak?

LPG is naturally odourless. Ethyl mercaptan is added so a leak smells like rotten eggs or cabbage. Never test with a flame. If there is a strong smell or immediate danger, leave the area and call for help rather than performing a test. For a routine connection check only: mix roughly equal parts mild liquid dish detergent and water; apply it generously to the hose, pipe joints, regulator and cylinder-valve connection; open the cylinder valve without lighting any appliance; look for continuous growing bubbles; then close the valve. Bubbles indicate a leak—do not use the equipment and contact OAC. After a successful no-leak check, rinse the tested components with clean water and wipe them dry.
